Dewey Spaulding
Superintendent
Dewey began working for the Company in the early 1970s as a lead millwright; however, due to the nature of the work, it was on an as-needed basis. Whenever we needed a skilled millwright, Dewey was the person we called. By 1977, the Company had grown to the point where it needed Dewey's skills full time. Dewey led the Company’s most technical and difficult millwright projects, including major paper machine rebuilds at Gilman Paper Company, Jefferson Smurfit, Union Camp-Savannah, Rayonier Brunswick Pulp and Paper, and Georgia-Pacific. Both his technical expertise and his leadership attributes contributed to the Company’s growth and stability. Dewey led by example and was always more concerned about the needs of the Company and his crew than his own. Dewey retired from the Company in 1999 after more than 20 years of dedicated service.
