David Nettles
Superintendent
David began working for the Milton J. Wood Company in 1971 and was the company's second full-time superintendent. David was also a superintendent at Milton's former company and was the only superintendent who, when asked, was willing to follow Milton and join our company. Then, like today, a quality superintendent capable of making sure that work was performed according to the plans, within the estimate, and with quality workmanship was paramount to project success. David did all this and more. He was assigned as the superintendent at the company's first “continuous client support” worksite, ITT Rayonier in Fernandina Beach, Fla. Not only was David responsible for executing the work, he also served as the primary marketing contact at the plant and a technical consultant for an array of construction-related issues that the plant engineers faced on a daily basis. Having David on the site of our most important client enabled Milton to focus on developing other clients and growing the company. David's service to the company was cut short by his death in 1987.
