Structural Renewal at Northrop Grumman’s Building 11 Wastewater Treatment Plant
In December 2024, MJW proudly completed the Building 11 Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) Structural Renewal project for our long-standing client Northrop Grumman in St. Augustine, Florida.
The project required careful coordination and skilled execution, as all work was performed while the wastewater treatment facility remained in continuous operation. Our team was responsible for removing and replacing sections of structural steel and metal roofing, re-painting existing steel, and installing new lighting fixtures to enhance both safety and functionality within the facility.
After the metal roofing was removed, roof support beams were carefully dismantled and disposed of, and the remaining structural steel received a new layer of protective paint applied by our painting subcontractor. New roof support beams—fabricated in-house by MJW’s Lakeland fabrication shop—were then set in place, followed by the installation of new metal roofing. The project concluded with the installation of updated lighting fixtures by MJW’s electrical team, completing the renewal of this facility.
The work began in October 2024 and was completed on schedule, with zero safety incidents and no disruption to Northrop Grumman’s wastewater treatment operations.
This successful project reflects the teamwork, craftsmanship, and commitment to safety that define MJW. A special thank you to all employees involved for their dedication and excellence in delivering another outstanding result for our valued client.
