SNF Holding Company – Riceboro, Georgia Foam Fire Protection System upgrades
SNF Holding Company, an international leader in water science, has been a valued client of MJW for many years. Their Riceboro, Georgia facility serves as the company’s U.S. National Headquarters, producing acrylamide and cationic monomers used to manufacture polyacrylamide flocculants, as well as dispersants, coagulants, cosmetics, and other specialty chemicals.
In 2023, SNF took a proactive step toward environmental responsibility by initiating plans to eliminate the use of AFFF foam at their Riceboro site. They reached out to MJW for support in reviewing consultant-prepared plans and developing a cost-effective approach for replacing their AFFF systems with the newer, cleaner, and environmentally-friendly NFF foam technology.
Over the course of the following year, MJW worked closely with SNF’s onsite engineering team and their international consultant to refine the system design and develop comprehensive proposals for the upgrade of ten existing systems. In late 2024, SNF approved both the design and budget, officially awarding MJW the project.
MJW’s engineering team began by performing detailed 3D laser scans of each system area and developed three distinct submittal packages over a three-month engagement period. Each package was approved on the first submission by both SNF’s insurance carrier and engineering representatives—a testament to the precision and quality of MJW’s design work.
In early 2025, MJW was authorized to procure the foam system equipment, and by September the team successfully completed the system commissioning. The project wrapped up in October 2025, marking not only the completion of a successful upgrade but also the beginning of an expanded partnership with SNF Holding Company.
